Here's your weekly recap of the exciting happenings at Bitung Digital Nomad Village:

Monday, October 2nd: Innovation Galore

We kicked off the week with a bang at Innovation Camp Monday, hosted at SMK Negeri 4 Bitung, a local vocational high school. This week, our discussions revolved around Industry Innovation Infrastructure, Affordable and Clean Energy, and Sustainable Cities and Communities. It was a day filled with fresh ideas and inspiration. 🚀

Birthday Vibes 💫

In the evening, we gathered for a special Birthday Dinner in honour of Meva's big day. The menu? A delicious spread featuring Chicken Curry and Vegetarian Curry. We know how to celebrate in style! 🎂🍛

Wednesday, October 4th: Hands-On Learning

Wednesday was all about hands-on learning. Andrea led her workshop on non-electric solar water heating systems with local students at one of the homestays. It was part of a 3-day workshop where students in the village learn what and the how so they can build one at their own homes, too. Learning and community-building in action! 🔧

In the evening, we were honoured with a Meet and greet between our BDNV fam and the Mayor of Bitung City. Connecting with the local community is at the heart of what we do. 👋

Thursday, October 5th: Underwater Adventures

Some of our adventurous BDNV Villagers embarked on a thrilling Snorkeling Trip during the day. As the sun set, we joined the opening ceremony of The 8th The Charm of Lembeh Strait Festival, an annual festival celebrating Bitung City's marine bounty and the City's coming Anniversary (10th October). It was a day filled with gratitude for the ocean's treasures. 🐠🌊

Friday, October 6th: Tiny Turtles and Big Hearts

Down at Mulu Kuala Beach, the locals organized a heartwarming event – a baby turtle release. We were privileged to be a part of this incredible experience, releasing these little wonders back into the sea. 🐢💙

Weekend Getaway: Saturday Fun

And now, it's time for a weekend staycation! Some of our BDNV Villagers are geared up for exciting weekend plans as we also welcome those joining our last leg of the Pilot Program. And our BDNV-ers get to enjoy music performances at The 8th Lembeh Strait Charm Festival and will be joining the celebration the Bitung Thanksgiving on Sunday before going home to our Village of Batuputih. Your weekend, your way! 🎶🏝️
